Toronto
Theatre – Toronto has a booming theater
scene. With hundreds of theatres, both large scale
and independent, the arts scene is thriving. Whether
you want to take in a big budget musical, indulge
in a little dinner theatre, or take in a show by local
artists, there are hundreds of opportunities a your
fingertips on any given night. While large scale theatre
can be a grand night out, we highly recommend you
check out some of the local actors in Toronto. The
city is bursting with talent and hospitality, so take
a chance and check out something a little different
and uniquely Canadian.
Aside from live theatre, there are also a number
of small rep cinemas in Toronto showcasing independent
films and foreign titles. Film is big business in
Toronto, nicknamed as Hollywood North because of the
booming film industry. The Toronto International
Film Festival happens every September and
is well worth the journey.
Below are some of Toronto's premier theatre venues.
Don't be afraid to look elsewhere though, this is
only a small sampling of what Toronto Theatre
has to offer you. Wander into one of the tiny downtown
theatres, you won't be disappointed.
