Toronto
Transport – Toronto is blessed with
one of the world’s most convenient public transportation
systems. The Toronto Transit Commission has buses,
streetcars, and subways all operating within downtown
and out to the suburbs. Most of these are functional
24 hours a day, with the exception being the subways,
which stop running at around 1am and resume service
at 5am. The TTC costs $2.25, or you can buy a Day
Pass for $7.50. If you're going to be sightseeing,
the Day Pass is a great deal because you can hop on
and off the TTC anywhere you please. Or, you can purchase
a Weekly Pass at any TTC station for $41.25. The TTC
has frequent services to and from every attraction,
and maps of their routes on every bus and streetcar.

Driving in Toronto can be a bit
of a hassle, as traffic jams are frequent and parking
scarce. Expect to pay at least $12 every time you
park in a public parking lot, more at some locations.
However, if you're looking to visit some of the out
of town attractions, the highways in and out of town
are usually smooth, and you can't beat the freedom
of driving! The speed limit inside the city ranges
from 30km to 50km. The speed limit on Ontario highways
is 100 km. Remember that Canada measures speed in
kilometres, not miles.
Taxi Service is readily available
all over the city. Just step on to the street, wave
your hand and a taxi will pull up for you. Rates are
reasonable, starting at $2.50 and the cab drivers
know the city inside and out. If you would like to
call for a cab, Diamond Taxi is a quick and reliable
company. Their number is 416 366 6868.
